The YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh headed by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy suffered yet another jolt in Supreme Court today, Thursday, September 3, 2020.
The Supreme Court refused to stay AP High Court orders, which quashed GOs issued by AP government making English Medium compulsory in all Government Schools from Class I to VI.
The Jagan government had issued orders making English Medium compulsory in government schools. These orders were challenged in the AP High Court by several individuals and organisations.
The High dismissed the AP Govt orders.
Despite this, the AP government approached Supreme Court against High Court orders and also sought stay on High Court orders.
However, the Supreme Court refused to grant stay and posted the case for further hearing to September 25.
