The clash happened near a vegetable market in Hyderabad on Thursday, June 18, 2020 in broad daylight and in full view of the public created panic among the passersby.
Few people recorded the incident on their mobile phones and video of the attack soon went viral as they resembled the gang wars that took place at Vijayawada recently over property dispute.
A 24-year-old man Jawed, a resident of Kukatpally was seriously injured after he was attacked with a knife during an altercation at Dundigal.
In the video, he was seen seriously injured in the attack with his left hand almost severed from the wrist and another deep cut on his leg.
Jawed was reportedly attacked by his own cousin, Jilani (34), a resident of Borabanda.
According to the Police, there was a financial transaction between the cousins of Rs 1 lakh. The money was meant for the registration of a plot but the plot was not registered nor was the money returned. Angered over this, an argument broke out between the two, which soon led to them attacking each other with sharp edged weapons, including an axe.
The video also featured two policemen trying to catch Jilani cautiously as he was weidling a sharp weapon. However, he fled the spot and is yet to be traced.
The Dundigal Police registered a case under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder). Police launched a hunt to trace Jilani.
