The Telangana state government has proposed to hold UG/ PG exams for final semester students from August 20 as per the guidelines issued by the UGC and the AICTE.
The TS State Council of Higher Education has prepared the draft schedule for conducting UG/ PG final semester exams for conventional courses like BA/ BCom/ BSc etc and professional courses like B.Tech/ M.Tech/ MBA/ MCA etc.
The state government will file an affidavit in the Telangana High Court on July 30, 2020 proposing to hold UG/ PG exams from August 20, 2020.
A petition was filed in High Court seeking cancellation of UG/ PG exams. The High Court directed state government to file its counter affidavit on the issue.
The state government has decided to file affidavit in High Court on July 30, 2020 stating that cancelling UG/ PG final semester exams is not possible as per UGC, AICTE guidelines and holding exams for these students is a must. The government will state in the affidavit that it want to promote students of other semesters (non-final semester students) to next semester without conducting exams. The government wants to submit high court that certificates awarded to final semester students without conducting exams holds no value and students will suffer in future.
