TS Eamcet, Icet, Edcet 2020 timings to be advanced by an hour for sanitisation works in exam centres

Thanks to corona pandemic, all the CETs (common entrance tests) for admissions into professional courses this year will undergo several changes.

The Telangana state government has decided to alter the timings for conducting CETs which include EAMCET, ICET, EDCET etc.

Since all these CETS are being held online, students appearing for exams will have to use the same computers in stipulated time slots and in batches.

To check the spread of coronavirus by using same computers and mouses by students, officials have decided to sanitise the computers, mouses and other equipment in exam centres after every batch completes exams.

Normally, CETs commence at 10 am every year. But this year, officials have decided to advance the timing by an hour to 9 am.

This one hour duration will be utilised for sanitisation works in exam centres to enable next batch take the exam with complete safety.

Accordingly, Eamcet will commence at 9 am in the morning session and the afternoon session exams commence at 3 pm.

The duration of the I-CET is only two and half years, while that

of the Edcet is only two hours.

To increase the interval between two examinations the timings of these entrance tests will also undergo change.

Officials said that the decision to alter timings has been taken in view of the ICMR guidelines.

This problem does not arise for examinations to be held in single session.
