Tollywood gets 'double dhamaka' from Jagan, KCR

Tollywood biggies seem to be good lobbyists in securing 'benefits' from both the governments of Telugu States.

Tollywood 'good lobbyists batch' comprise of actors Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, producers Dil Raju, Kalyan and directors Trivikrama Rao and Rajmouli.

On May 22, they met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad and sought corona lockdown relaxation to resume shootings and reopen cinema theatres.

KCR responded positively and issued orders (GO) on June 9 granting permissions to resume shootings.

The same Tollywood batch met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on June 9 in Tadepalli's Jagan residence and sought similar relaxations.

Jagan too agreed for this and assured to issue orders in this regard very soon.

However, insiders say there is more to these meetings than seeking permission to begins shootings.

Officials sources said Tollywood biggies sought allotment of land from both the governments to set up film studios.

It is learnt that KCR agreed to allot lands on Hyderabad city outskirts.

Jagan too is learnt to have gave his nod to allot lands in Vizag to develop Tollywood in AP.

In this way, the Tollywood biggies could lobby successfully with both the Telugu States governments within a gap of just three weeks.
