The SSC public exams in Telangana have already been postponed twice due to corona lockdown. They were first postponed in mid-March due to imposition of lockdown in Telangana.
The SSC exams were supposed to begin again from June 8, 2020, Monday, but they were postponed at the last minute.
With the increasing corona cases in Telangana, there is no possibility of holding SSC exams in the near future. The government even cannot wait longer to conduct SSC exams as academic year will be delayed for Intermediate admissions.
In this backdrop, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is holding a crucial meeting at Pragathi Bhavan on June 8, Monday, to decide the fate of SSC exams.
Official sources said KCR is likely to take a decision cancelling SSC exams for this year and promote students to higher classes based on internal assessment exams held at school level. Students will be awarded grades accordingly as was done in Punjab, Gujarat etc.
An official announcement in this regard is expected by the evening of June 8, Monday.
