NEET 2020 postponement: Supreme Court to hear fresh petition today

The Supreme Court will hear a petition today, September 9, 2020, Wednesday, filed by 11 petitioners seeking postponement of NEET.

The Supreme Court bench led by Justice Ashok Bhushan is expected to hear the petition by noon and give its judgement by noon today.

NEET 2020 is scheduled to be held on September 13, 2020 across India.

The Supreme Court on September 4, 2020 dismissed a petition filed by six States ruled by non-BJP Opposition parties seeking postponement of JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020.

Despite this, 11 NEET students from 11 states have filed a petition in the Supreme Court for seeking postponement of NEET 2020 exams. The students sought for more number of exam centres as a precautionary measure and urged for transport facilities to and from the examination centres.

The fresh petition includes more number of NEET exam centres and holding the eligibility test of NEET in more than one shifts.
