Nara Lokesh says KCR best, Jagan worst in foodgrains procurement from farmers

Nara Lokesh, MLC, TDP general secretary, former IT minister of AP and son of TDP chief and former AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, showered praises on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, while at the same time lashing at out AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy over the issue of procurement of foodgrains from farmers.

Lokesh said KCR is doing a good job in Telangana by setting up procurement centres at village-level to avoid mass gathering in these corona times and directly procuring foodgrains from farmers for remunerative prices by spending crores of rupees.

On the other hand, Lokesh said Jagan failed to set up village-level procurement centres.

Lokesh said while Telangana government already purchased over Rs 5,000 crore worth foodgrains from farmers, YSRCP government in AP is making false claims that it had purchased Rs 1,000 crore worth foodgrains so far but when verified on ground, it proves that Jagan's claims were false.

Lokesh said AP farmers had produced 55 lakh metric tonnes of foodgrains but YSRCP government failed to procure even 5 lakh metric tonnes so far, while the Telangana government had already procured 22 lakh metric tonnes.

Lokesh said Jagan's failures have pushed AP farmers into deep financial crisis.

Lokesh alleged that Jagan failed to ensure MSP (minimum support price) for farmers even for the meager foodgrains they had procured so far.
