Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to lay foundation for Andhra Pradesh's new executive capital Visakhapatnam.
AP Chief Minister YS Jagan will visit Delhi soon to meet PM Modi and request him to lay foundation for new capital Vizag.
Interestingly, Modi laid foundation for Amaravathi capital in October 2016 on the invitation of then AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu.
Jagan's plan to create three capitals for AP got approval today, July 31, 2020, with AP Governor giving his nod to three Bills passed by AP Assembly on shifting of AP capital from Amaravathi to Vizag and create three capitals for AP.
Amaravathi will be confined as Legislative capital having Legislative Assembly and Council.
Vizag will become executive capital with Secretariat and all state-level government offices.
Kurnool will be judicial capital with High Court.
Modi is likely to lay foundation in Vizag in August.
