KTR's "CM dreams" shattered: Dubbaka effect

The shocking defeat of TRS at the hands of BJP in the recent Dubbaka Assembly bypoll has shattered the dreams of IT minister KT Rama Rao of becoming Chief Minister of Telangana State.

TRS chief and Telangana CM KCR had planned to make his son KTR as CM soon after winning Dubbak election.

KCR wanted to shift to national politics and revive his Federal Front by bringing all regional parties against BJP-led NDA. KCR hoped that BJP-JDU combine will lose Bihar Assembly polls due to which BJP and NDA will become weak at national level and he can project his Federal Front as alternative to NDA and UPA.

But all his plans were dashed by BJP. The BJP won not only Bihar Assembly polls but also defeated TRS in Dubbaka election.

With this KCR's dreams of playing a key role in national politics were shattered.

KCR has now decided to focus more on Telangana and continue as CM till December 2023 Assembly polls as BJP is getting stronger in Telangana.

KCR is afraid that BJP will come to power in Telangana in 2023 if he focuses on national politics. With this, KCR wants to confine to Telangana till 2023 Assembly polls.

With this, the chances of KTR becoming CM have become nil.
