TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao is most likely to contest from Munugode Assembly constituency in Nalgonda district in upcoming Assembly elections scheduled in 2023.
KCR is currently the MLA from Gajwel Assembly constituency. KCR won from Gajwel in 2014 and became CM. He again won from Gajwel in 2018.
There is a buzz in TRS circles that KCR wants to shift to Munugode for next Assembly polls in 2023. Congress leader Komatireddy Rajagopal is MLA of Munugode at present. Rajagopal is planning to jump into BJP as he is upset at Congress high command appointing A.Revanth Reddy as TPCC president.
The strategy behind KCR shifting to Munugode is that TRS has lost its ground in South Telangana districts and the recent surveys conducted by Prashant Kishor team found that TRS will lose badly in South Telangana districts in 2023 and if KCR contests from Munugode in South Telangana district, it is believed that it will show impact on all South Telangana districts and improve TRS candidates prospects in South Telangana districts.
