KCR permits film/ TV shootings in Telangana, says 'no' to cinema theatres opening!

Providing a big relief to Telugu film and TV industry in Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday, June 8, 2020, granted permission to resume film and TV shootings and post-production activities in the state. However, he refused to give permission to reopen cinema theatres now citing central government's guidelines barring cinema theatres reopening.

The film and TV shootings came to a halt since mid-March due to imposition of corona lockdown in state.

Several Tollywood prominent personalities including actors Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, producers Dil Raju, Kalyan, directors Rajamouli, Trivikrama Rao recently met KCR at Pragathi Bhavan and requested him to accord permission to resume shootings to protect film and TV industry from crisis.

KCR had responded positively then. Accordingly, he issued orders on Monday granting permission to resume shootings and post production activities.

However, the permission was accorded with certain conditions. Shootings and post production activities should be done with limited number of people, staff and strictly follow the covid guidelines and lockdown conditions in the state.

Telangana Chief Minister's Office (CMO) has released an official press release in this regard which can be seen below:
