Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy are giving 'build up' as if both are waging a battle and engaged in a dispute for water for their respective states.
But when Central government offered to mediate to resolve the dispute by convening Apex Council meeting on August 5, both the CMs are avoiding the meeting.
KCR already made it clear that he cannot attend meeting on August 5 as he is 'busy' on that day though it's a different issue that he confines himself to Pragathi Bhavan or his farmhouse and doesn't tour anywhere like many other CMs does.
Jagan too remained silent without conforming his participation in the meeting even after Centre's reminder.
Jagan announced to construct Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project by utilising Srisailam water. KCR opposed this and filed a complaint with Krisha River Management Board.
KRMB on July 30, 2020 (yesterday) directed AP govt to stop project works immediately till it gives approval.
Jagan's media "Saaskhi" Telugu newspaper ignored such an important news in its AP edition. Surprisingly, in its Telangana edition it published this news on first page. This shows Jagan wants to make KCR happy but not really concerned about AP's interests.
KCR on the other hand made Jagan happy by avoiding Apex Council meeting on August 5.
In this way, both the CMs are busy with 'screen plays and dramas' to derive political mileage by ripping off regional passions in both the states but doing really nothing on the ground whether to construct the project or stop the project and try to resolve water disputes between TS and AP.
