The Karnataka state government has decided to postpone the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET 2020) scheduled to be held on July 30 and 31, 2020.
An official announcement in this regard is expected on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.
The decision follows Karntaka High Court's orders on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 directing the Karnataka government to reconsider its decision on holding KCET on July 30 and 31.
The High Court directed state government to submit its decision before the court by 2.30 pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.
In this backdrop, the state government has decided to postpone KCET 2020 and convey the same to the High Court on July 29.
A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed challenging the decision of Karnataka Examination Authority to conduct the KCET exam on July 30 & 31, even as the number of COVID19 cases continue to rise in the state and especially in Bengaluru.
