A decision on whether to cancel JEE Main, NEET, scheduled to be held in July will be taken on Friday, June 3, 2020, said union minister of HRD Ramesh Pokhriyal on Thursday, June 2, 2020.
Around 30 lakh students who applied for JEE Main and NEET across India are eagerly waiting for the decision. Majority of the students want Centre to cancel both these exams in the wake of corona pandemic across the country.
The minister took to Twitter on Thursday to express his views on the issue.
He said that a commission comprising of NTA and other experts have been asked to review the situation and submit their recommendations to government on Friday, June 2, 2020 based on which the government will take a decision on the fate of JEE Main and NEET 2020.
While JEE exam is scheduled to be held between July 19 and July 23, NEET exam is scheduled for July 26.
