JEE Main, NEET 2020: Supreme Court dismisses review petition today, refuses postponement

The Supreme Court dismissed the review petition today, September 4, 2020, Friday, filed by six states ruled by opposition parties seeking postponement of JEE Main2020 and NEET 2020 on the grounds of corona pandemic situation across India.

The Supreme Court heard the case today and dismissed it saying that petition has no merit to entertain.

This is because the JEE Main exams started across India on September 1 and students attended fourth-day exams today. Already lakhs of students took exams and only two days exams are left till September 6.

In this backdrop, the chances of Supreme Court postponing JEE Main exams werev nil as postponement at this stage will halt the entire process and students who have already given exams for four days will also be affected along with students who are set to take exams for next two days.

However, NEET students werevhoping for Supreme Court postponing the exams as it is yet to be held and scheduled for September 13 across India. However, the Supreme Court ruled against it
