The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts JEE Main and NEET, is learnt to have submitted a report to the Union Ministry of HRD recommending postponement of JEE Main and NEET 2020, scheduled to be held in July.
The NTA made this recommendation in the wake of rising corona positive cases across the country and keeping in view the safety of students.
Around 30 lakh students and their parents across the country, who applied for NEET and JEE Main this year are tensed and worried over how to appear for these crucial entrance exams that shape their career in the wake of corona pandemic.
Now, they will be relived with NTA report recommending postponement of these exams.
The UMHRD announcing postponement of NEET, JEE Main is only a formality now. The UMHRD's annoucement is expected in few hours from now.
UMHRD minister Pokhiryal will meet PM Modi along with NTA report in a while before making official announcement on postponement of exams.
The NTA will announce fresh dates for conducting NEET and JEE Main 2020 in August.
