JEE Main 2020 Good News: 75% marks in 10+2 board exams, Top-20 percentile not required

Good news for students aspiring for JEE Main 2020 for engineering admissions in reputed NITs, IIIT and other Central Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).

The central government has relaxed the eligibility norms this year for admissions in the above institutions.

Earlier the students were required to secure a minimum of 75% marks in Class XII Board exams (10+2) or rank among the top 20 percentile. But this rule has now been scrapped.

"Due to prevailing circumstances, Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has decided to relax the eligibility criterion for admissions to NITs and other CFTIs. JEE Main 2020 qualified candidates will now only need to obtain a passing certificate in class XII examination irrespective of the marks obtained," UMHRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has tweeted.

Students can get admissions purely on the rank secured in JEE Main 2020 this year.

Recently, the central government gave similar relaxation for JEE Advanced students aspiring for admissions in prestigious IITs due to prevailing conditions on account of corona pandemic.
