Hyd to get 'bullet train', Centre proposes 753-km long Hyd-Mumbai bullet train project

The city of Hyderabad, which is fast emerging as a world-class global city with world-class infrastructure facilities like Metro Rail, International airport, MMTS, flyovers, skyways, Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge etc, is all set to get yet another world class transport facility in the form of 'bullet train'.

Official sources said the Central government has proposed to launch seven new bullet train projects in India and directed officials to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) in this regard immediately.

The new projects include - Delhi-Varanasi (865 km), Mumbai-Nagpur (753 km), Delhi-Ahmedabad (886 km), Chennai-Mysore (435 km), Delhi-Amritsar (459 km), Mumbai-Hyderabad (711 km) and Varanasi-Howrah (760 km).

Of the seven new bullet projects, Hyderabad will get one.

Hyderabad city will be connected with Mumbai through a bullet rail spread over 753 kms.

The Central government is planning to invest Rs 10 lakh crore on seven bullet train projects.

The connectivity between two major metropolitan cities of Hyderabad and Mumbai will usher in a phenomenal development in trade and commerce activities in both Telangana and Maharashtra States.
