The hashtags #HappyBirthdayKTR and #GiftASmile were on national trends on Twitter on IT and Industries Minister KTR’s birthday on Friday, July 24, 2020. Fans, wellwishers, and TRS party leaders and supporters have spread smiles by helping the needy. They also shared the moments on social media.
Tweets with various acts of kindness with hashtag #GiftASmile were being posted on Twitter throughout the day. The wellwishers of Minister KTR ensured to follow his request of not to splurge money on celebrations on his birthday. Instead, he urged them to spend on good causes.
Keeping in mind the COVID situation, the Minister’s followers and wellwishers came up with very innovative ideas to help those who are in need.
TRS leader Talasani Sai Kiran Yadav under the Talasani Foundation has sponsored Health Insurance to the tune of Rs. 20 Cr coverage to 1000 outsourcing personnel of DRF, as a part of #GiftASmile campaign.
Through #GiftASmile campaign, MLC Naveen Rao helped a foundation that serves people with special needs. And also made a donation of Rs 10,01,116/- to Sivananda rehabilitation home for the procurement of ventilators for their hospital.
Choppadandi MLA Sunke Ravishankar provided books to the students of a government high school in Jagtial. He also provided essential goods to the needy.
Jawaharnagar Mayor Kavya also participated in the campaign and tweeted saying, “Gifting SMILES to the Mighty LEADER @KTRTRS Sir. Gifted smiles of the children from a slum near my home by giving them notebooks for the schooling. Happy Birthday, Sir.”
TRS leader Y Satish Reddy provided financial assistance to Telangana agitator Samarla Mogili. He promised to take care of his son's education and also provide an artificial leg as a part of the #GiftASmile campaign.
TRS leader Krishank under the #GiftASmile has provided rain sheets to 102 migrant families who live in huts. He provided ration kits to the families which will be sufficient for a month. Krishank also distributed jute bags with vitamin C, Zincovit Tablet, face shields, and sanitizers to sanitary workers of the cantonment area.
