Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, K Chandrasekhar Rao and YS Jaganmohan Reddy are already leading the country in implementing welfare schemes and cash transfer schemes for poor in both the states.
KCR and Jagan are spending over Rs 50,000 crore each on welfare schemes and cash transfer schemes.
Now both the CMs are reportedly considering to implement 'free corona vaccine' for people in AP and Telangana as and when the corona vaccine gets Central government approval and launched in the market.
Hyderabad-based company Bharat Biotech India Ltd, is already reached the advance stage of developing corona vaccine "Covaxin" . It already got Central government approval to conduct clinical trials. If all goes well, the vaccine may be launched in August.
Jagan and KCR want to procure vaccines from Bharat Biotech and conduct free vaccination for entire population in AP and TS like "pulse polio programme". It will be done free of cost.
People who are willing to have free vaccination can approach government vaccination centes to be set up in all the districts covering every area. People who can afford to buy vaccines can approach private hospitals. The choice will be left to people whether they want to avail free vaccination or not.
If this is implemented, KCR and Jagan will win the hearts of crores of people for saving them from the deadly coronavirus with vaccination free of cost.
Dr Krishna Ella, chairman and managing director of Bharat Biotech, has close relations with both KCR and Jagan.
Both the CMs are learnt to have already discussed free vaccination issue with Krishna Ella and the amount of funds it would require to procure vaccines to cover entire population in both the states.
