A decision on postponing AP Eamcet 2020 scheduled to be held from July 27 is expected today, Saturday, July 11, 2020.
Andhra Pradesh education minister A Suresh is holding a high level meeting with officials of AP State Council of Higher Education and higher education department on Eamcet in the wake of increasing corona cases in the state.
The government is flooded with demands and requests from students and parents to postpone Eamcet till September.
Officials had set up 167 exam centres for Eamcet as over 2.71 lakh candidates had applied this year.
However, the exam centres have now come down to 146 with over 15,000 students who opted for exam centres in Vijayawada ealier have moved to their native places following lockdown and closure of educational institutions since March. These students have now opted for exam centres in their native districts.
With this, several exam centres in Vijayawada were removed and few centres in districts were added.
In this backdrop, AP education minister is holding a meeting today to take a decision on postponement of Eamcet.
