The Telangana High Court on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, started hearing the public interest litigation (PIL) filed seeking postponement of Common Entrance Tests (CETs 2020) including Eamcet , Icet, Edcet etc, scheduled to be held in July.
The petition was filed by students union NSUI which brought to the notice of High Court that the increasing corona positive cases in city will pose a threat to the safety and health of students if CETs are held in July and sought postponement.
The High Court directed the state government to submit details before the court explaining how it plans to conduct CETs at this juncture when corona cases are rising.
The court also asked government how it will conduct CETS in July when it is planning to reimpose lockdown in GHMC limits.
The advocate general representing state government sought time to submit these details.
The court postponed the case for further hearing for an hour today.
