The Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, made it clear that it is mandatory to obtain "E-Pass" in online mode through "Spandana" portal to enter into AP from any other state.
AP DGP Goutam Sawang stated that only those people who obtained E-Pass will be allowed to enter into AP from 7 am to 7 pm only.
Thousands of people, especially from Hyderabad in Telangana, were stuck up at AP border points since night as they were denied entry into AP for lacking E-Pass.
The rush of AP natives to reach from Hyderabad to AP increased in the wake of reports of Telangana government planning to reimpose lockdown in Hyderabad for 15 days from the first week of July.
People were forced to return to Hyderabad which led to arguments between AP police and people at AP border points.
DGP stated that people will be allowed into AP after conducting thermal screening at the border points. He said they have to be under home quarantine for one week after entering into AP.
