When corona positive cases were first reported in India in February/ March this year, Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, K Chandrasekhar Rao and YS Jaganmohan Reddy adopted a casual approach and tried to play down the issue saying that there will be no corona threat in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
KCR and Jagan even went to the extent of saying that people should not be worried about corona as it can be cured by taking paracetamol tablets and sanitising the premises through bleaching powder.
However, corona cases spread like wild fire in Telangana in AP soon after. Both the states are witnessing hundreds of cases every day for the past few days.
Shockingly, corona entered even the Chief Ministers' Offices (CMOs) of Telangana and AP on the same day on Saturday, June 6, 2020.
Telangana CMO was shifted to Hyderabad Metro Rail Bhavan in Begumpet after KCR decided to demolish existing Secretariat last year. An employee working in Telangana CMO was tested positive for corona on Saturday.
Similarly, a driver workign in AP CMO tested positive on Saturday. He was one among the five employees working in AP Secretariat who were tested positive on Saturday.
With this, the CMOs of Telangana and AP were shut from Saturday.
This should be an eye opender for KCR and Jagan to take corona seriously and take stringent measures to control the spread of coronavirus.
