The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka will hold the COMEDK UGET 2020 exam as scheduled on 19th August 2020.
All arrangements were made for the smooth and safe conduct of the exam by duly following Covid-19 physical distancing norms after the Karnatake High Court refused to postpone the exam in the wake of corona pandemic on August 14, 2020.
Exam centres have been set up in accordance with Covid-19 regulations.
Proper sanitisation of exam centres was done and seating has been arranged ensuring physical distancing between students.
Earlier on 11th August, the consortium released the admit card or hall ticket for the upcoming entrance exam on its official website. The exam is scheduled to be held in two different sessions i.e. morning session which will start at 9 AM and conclude at 12 PM, while the afternoon session will start at 2:30 PM and conclude at 5:30 PM.
The Karnataka HC while hearing a plea filed seeking postponement of the exam, declined to interfere in the matter of holding the exams. During the hearing, the court noted that there has already been a significant delay in holding of the entrance exam due to COVDI-19 pandemic.
During this time period, Karnataka Government has already held Class 10 Board Exams along with KCET 2020 exam. On this pretext, the court has declined to interfere in the exam schedule and instead decided to let the COMEDK UGET 2020 exam go on as per its previous schedule.
