The Supreme Court will hear the batch of petitions seeking cancellation of CBSE Class X, Class XII compartmental exams 2020 tomorrow, Tuesday, September 22.
Congress Rajya Sabha MP and Senior Advocate Vivek Tankha will argue the case on behalf of CBSE students seeking the cancellation of compartment exams in the wake of corona pandemic.
The CBSE Class X compartment exam will be conducted on September 22, 23, 25, 26 and 28, while the Class XII examinations will be held on September 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28 and 29. the admit cards for these exams were released on September 12. "Happy to help distressed CBSE students who are facing the compartment exam. We empathise with the catch 22 situation. "A dedicated team of young lawyers is assisting in the matter and helping the students," Tankha tweeted .
The petition was moved by the student political organisation All India Students' Association, where around 800 students were signatories.
Previously, another Congress Rajya Sabha MP and Senior Advocate Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi had represented a student called Yash Dubey pro bono in his petition that sought the postponement of the university examinations in accordance to the UGC guidelines. The petition was, however, dismissed.
