The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) categorically stated that it is not possible to cancel compartment exams 2020 scheduled to begin from September 22, 2020 across India.
CBSE controller of examinations Sanyam Bharadwaj made it clear that compartment exams cannot be cancelled as demaded by students on the grounds of corona pandemic.
Bharadwaj said the CBSE has made all the arrangements for the safety of students appearing for exams in all the exam centres by duly following covid norms on social distancing, masks and sanitisers.
Bharadwaj said compartment exams cannot be cancelled based on demand by few sections of students as cancellation would deprive the opportunity for other sections of students who wish to appear for exams to improve their marks.
Bhardwaj said that the CBSE board offers three chances for appearing in Compartment exams to Class 10 and Class 12 students in addition to the Main examination.
If any candidate is not willing to avail the first chance of Compartment scheduled in September 2020 because of any reasons, they can avail the second or third chance of compartment exams. The conduct of Compartment exams is necessary for the students who wish to appear and avail the first chance of Compartment Exams.
Bharadwaj said that JEE Main, NEET exams which were attended by lakhs of students across India were successfully conducted recently, why there would be any problem for CBSE compartment exams, which will be attended by only few thousands on a particular day.
