The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to reduce the syllabus for students in all schools and junior colleges by 30 per cent in the present academic year 2020-21.
AP education minister A Suresh said that the decision was taken to make up for the loss of working days due to corona pandemic.
Accordingly, the syllabus for students from Class I to X in all schools and Intermediate first and second year students in all junior colleges will be reduced by 30 per cent.
The minister stated that if schools and junior colleges were opened on June 12, 2020 as per original schedule, the total working days in 2020-21 academic year would have been 222.
But due to corona pandemic, 61 working days have been lost so far.
The minister said that to complete syallabus in the remaining 161 days of this academic year, there is a need to cut the syllabus by 30 per cent.
