AP No.1 EoDB rank: Credit goes to Chandrababu, not Jagan!

The Central government today, September 5, 2020, Saturday announced Ease of Doing Business (EoDB rankings) for States in India.

Andhra Pradesh was ranked No.1 in these rankings.

The previous EoDB rankings were announced in 2018, when AP was ranked No.1 and Telangana No.3

AP has retained No.1 rank in the latest 2019 rankings announced today, September 5, 2020 while Telangana slipped by one place to thrid rank.

The 2019 rankings were announced today based on the performance of state governments for 2018-19 financial year, which ended on March 31, 2019.

Interestingly, AP achieved No. 1 rank twice in 2018 and 2019 (announced today) when Chandrababu was CM of AP.

But the ruling YSRCP government took 'false credit' for the achievements of Chandrababu.

Soon after the Central government announced No.1 rank for AP, the AP industries minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy issued a statement saying that due to AP CM YS Jagan's pro-industry, pro-investment policies, AP could secure No. 1 rank.

But the fact remains that Jagan became CM of AP on May 30, 2019, while the cut off date for 2019 rankings announced today was March 31, 2019. Chandrababu was CM of AP then not Jagan.

Despite all this, YSRCP government and AP ministers and YSRCP leaders are giving 'build up' as Jagan's achievement.

There is nothing one can do about this except laughing at their ignorance.
