AP degree online admissions (UG) 2020 delayed: Jagan govt's failure

Students and parents in Andhra Pradesh are tensed as the AP government failed to commence degree admissions (under graduate courses) for 2020-21 so far.

Though the New Year 2021 has arrived, the Jaganmohan Reddy government in AP failed to prescribe the fee structure for fee courses so far leading to severe delay in the admissions process.

With this, students and their parents are a worried lot.

The degree admissions in online mode (TS DOST 2020) in neighbouring Telangana State was already completed.

But in AP, the degree admissions process is yet to begin.

The AP government has decided to take up degree admissions in online mode for the first time similar to that of Telangana State.

However, the Jagan government is sitting on fixing the fee structure for degree courses so far.

With this, the APSCHE officials have failed to issue the notification for degree admissions in AP so far.

Some minority colleges, autonomous colleges have already completed admissions on their own. There is no clarity whether AP government approve these admissions or not.

A total of nearly 5 lakh degree seats are available in AP in 1,080 private degree colleges, 121 aided colleges and 151 government colleges.

But no one knows when admissions will begin.
