AP CM Jagan convenes cabinet meet in Vizag, takes first step to shift capital from Amaravathi

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who is hell bent on shifting AP capital from Amaravathi to Vizag only for 'political reasons' that Amaravathi capital was conceived by previous CM N Chandrababu Naidu, has taken one more step forward to shift AP capital to Vizag.

AP government sources told that Jagan has decided to hold his next cabinet meeting in Vizag instead of Amaravathi (Vijayawada). Normally, cabinet meetings are held in state capital cities.

By doing so, Jagan wants to send a clear message to all that there is no going back on killing Amaravathi and shifting capital to Vizag, come what may.

There are already several cases pending in AP High Court against shifting of capital filed by Amaravathi farmers who gave away their most fertile lands for construction of new capital city in Amaravthi.

Despite cases, Jagan has decided to go forward on shifting of capital to Vizag.

Official sources said the next cabinet meeting will be convened in Vizag within a week.
