Andhra Pradesh debt burden (loans) under YSRCP Jagan govt






As per the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) report, Andhra Pradesh stands at No.1 place in India in taking loans from banks and financial institutions for the year 2020-21.


In the 11 months of this fiscal (2020-21 April-February), AP government took loans worth Rs 79,191 crore.


In the first two months of this fiscal (April-May 2020), the AP government took loans of Rs 29,418 crore.


In April 2020, AP government took loans of Rs 16,903 crore and in May 2020, it took Rs 12,515 crore. In these two months, AP government took loans worth Rs 482 crore per day which is a record of sorts.


In these 11 months, AP government took loans of Rs 7,199 crore per month on average.


The loans are 10.44% more than the state government's income.
